Bournemouth University is planning a research project to help people in the community learn how to examine their skin for the early signs of skin cancer.

They are looking for volunteers aged over 18 to help plan and design the project. If you’re

Recipe for the perfect consultation?

When I get time I enjoy cooking, I confess I’m not a particularly good cook but I do enjoy myself in the kitchen.

My cookery skills are an extension of my personality hence I find it very difficult (bordering on the impossible) to follow guidelines – oops sorry – the recipe. I like to read through the instructions and get a flavour of what is meant and then I like to through in whatever is at hand in a rather liberal manner.

Exercise & Dogged Determination!

It’s a sad fact but telling people that they need more exercise is a futile exercise!

I can produce the most compelling argument that exercise is essential for a long and healthy life – it halves the risk of diabetes, heart disease, stroke, raised blood pressure, lowers cholesterol and almost certainly halves your risk of developing any cancer.
